I first met him in Pantomime many years ago where I was directing him and playing in the production myself for Qdos.

Many long lunches and laughing with them both at the sheer genius that they were day after day.

In the run through I lost my Musical Director through illness.

I had my producers coming, first time I'd directed for them.

' I'll play the show' said George ' No problem'.

' But your in most of it', I said. 

' Darling , its not a problem' he said.

Well he played everything, overture, everyones song, no music,  didn't need it, every note, every key, perfection.

That was George, sheer genius, kind generous to a young director.
